With the increasing popularity of 4x4 off-roading, more and more winches are being used for leisure purposes. But how many of us want a permanent bumper mounted winch on the front of our nice expensive, and lets be honest, mainly road going 4x4?
Here at Watling Engineers we have developed an ever increasing range of front mounted detachable towbars which, when used in conjunction with our range of portable winches provides a great way to enjoy the great outdoors and the challenges that off-roading brings, yet still keeps the looks of your vehicle.
Simplicity itself
After your front towbar is fitted, setting up the winch takes a matter of minutes.
The winch power leads are permanently attached to the vehicle battery at one end, and have quick release connectors at the other end.
The detachable sections of the winch system are very portable and can easily be stored in the vehicle to be used when needed.
With the winch unattached, there is very little to see at the front of your vehicle.
When the winch is needed, you firstly insert the detachable front towbar section.
The winch is then lowered onto the towball and secured with the locking pin.
With the battery leads connected and the remote wanderlead in place you are ready to go.

We have a range of winches suitable for most leisure and light commercial applications with maximum load ratings ranging from 3500lb-8000lb (1500kg-3600kg). These are ideal for many purposes ranging from the launch and recovery of boats to pulling caravans up steep driveways to self recovery and commercial recovery applications.
All our winches come with a 2m heavy duty battery connection cable, quick release snap connectors for easy coupling and the appropriate towball mount.

This handy little winch is ideal for the launch and recovery of trailerable boats down steep slipways or for pulling caravans up steep driveways or out of muddy fields or storage areas. Full steel planetary gearing, weather sealed solenoid sontactors and a heavy duty cam action clutch ensure maximum performance in the toughest environment.

C4500EWX Winch - £329 plus VAT
C4500EWX Portable winch - Max pull 2000kg
This is the latest addition to the Champion Winch range. High quality three stage planetary gearing ensure this is one of the quietest and smoothest winches on the market. The silky smooth performance and the full load holding brake make it the perfect solution for high spec applications. 14.5m of 6.4mm cable and heavy duty waterproof contactors make this a very capable winch.

Commercial Applications
A quick and easy method for light recovery work, towball mounted winches are adaptable and versatile.
